Our Impact
Getting Ahead is a unique anti-poverty program specializing in educating those living in poverty the issues that impact their lives while providing the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to help them move out of poverty and maintain self-sufficiency.
What we do
Using the resources from “Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World” by Philip E. DeVol, our team of trained facilitators redefine poverty and help investigators examine and better understand their current situation in order to empower them to not just get ahead, but stay ahead in their community.
The Getting Ahead program is the engine behind the Bridges Out Of Poverty model.
We Find & Fund
We are in search of opportunities to help as many people as possible. We try to help all those who are in need from ages 18 and up who are ready to get ahead.
We Educate
45-hour workshop that helps individuals in poverty to build their resources for a more prosperous life for themselves, their families, and their communities.
We Provide Care
A childcare service is provided for participants during the session time.
We Eat Good
Meals are provided twice a week by volunteers during each session.
